DDA Alterations

Since the introduction of the Disability Discrimination Act in 1995, Her Majesty’s Courts Service has been working to ensure that they meet their obligations and act within the sprit of the DDA. Bastion work colsely with HMCS in ensuring that Court room docks and furniture are DDA compliant.

Bristol Magistrates is a fine example where an extension to the advocates bench was required in order to comply with the DDA. The extension allows both able bodied and disabled advocates to work from the advocates bench with the repositioning of the bench achievable by any member of staff.

The underside of the bench extension runs on 12 small wheels and slotted plates, with grants runners, visible at the side of the benches; stabilising the mechanism.

Whether it be Court room funiture or secure docks, fines payment counters or reception desks, Bastion work within the DDA guidelines to achieve the requirements of HMCS.
