Seven new docks for Manchester - September 2008
Seven secure docks have recently been installed in the city of Manchester, ranging from Island docks to Video link Docks.
Following the work at Manchester’s Crown Square’s Crown Court in March, Bastion was invited back to the North West, this time to work on the Crown Court on Minshull Street. If the three secure docks installed in Crown Square weren’t enough, a further four were required across town.
The secure docks each side of Manchester couldn’t have been any different with two Island docks and a video link dock necessary at Crown Square. Although Island docks are technically more difficult to construct, Bastion ensured there was no disruption to Court services and completed the works over separate weekends. The video link dock, similarly tricky, integrated five TV monitors within the dock wall.
Minshull Street on the other hand required four more secure docks. Although no Island docks or video links were installed, English Heritage approval was required with the Court being a listed building. Similarly, Bastion’s flexibility skills were put to the test as all works were completed over consecutive weekends.
Each dock matches existing furniture and are fully equipped with sound enhancement systems.
