Luxurious, Lavish and ‘L’ shaped - September 2008
Brighton Combined Court house worked closely with Bastion earlier this year, installing two ‘L’ shaped docks in Court rooms three and four.
Two new ‘L’ shaped docks have been installed at Brighton Court house. Courts 3 and 4, accommodating both Magistrates and Crown Court sittings have had the ‘L’ shaped docks installed within two weeks without any disruption to the Court Service.
With Crown Court sittings, it is the norm for docks to be in the direct line of the judge. To accommodate this, whilst keeping the option of a dock to the side of the Court room, the ‘L’ shape dock was decided upon. As requested by Brighton Court house, Bastion raised the flooring within the docks whilst overseeing the installation of sound enhancement systems.
To complete Court room 4, Bastion added 16 flip-up seats to both advocate and Clerk benches with a further 12 installed within the Jury’s area. Within Court 3, Brighton Court house required additional joinery work with the manufacturing and installation of a rear wall to the existing advocate benches.
